Transition to School

Visit to Oranga Kindy
On Wednesday 15 March we went to visit Oranga Kindy
The purpose of our visits is to foster relationships within the community.

We made sure we checked both ways before crossing the road.
When we got closer to the Kindy we could see the children playing.
When we arrived at the Kindy we sat on the mat with all of the children.

We read our books to a group of children, showing them what we have learnt since starting school.

Then we went with our new friends to play!

Both Harry and Murtaza used to go to Oranga Kindy.
They got to see their old Teachers and some of their old friends.

Poppy used to go to Oranga Kindy, she liked seeing how much the Kindy has changed and exploring all of the new activities!

Summer saw a lot of her Kindy friends, she was just there last week!

When it was time to leave we sat on the mat and sang a goodbye song.

Visits to School
Throughout the year rooms 9 and 10 will be inviting local ECE Centres to bring groups of children into our classes to experience, 'what it is like to be at school.'
Oranga children will learn how to care for others, make others feel welcome and take on the role of a leader.
